Harness: Unpaid Advisor tops Goshen Yearling Sale, average down 10 percent

The 2018 edition of the Goshen Yearling Sale took place on Sunday at the Mark Ford Training Center in Middletown, New York, and Chapter Seven colt Unpaid Advisor topped the sale, bringing $50,000.
Unpaid Advisor, selling as part of the Boxwood Farm consignment, was a buy-back for co-breeder Charles Colbrunn of Florida. Unpaid Advisor is out of the Majestic Son mare Pole Dancer, a half-sister to Believable (Cantab Hall, 1:56 1/5, $145,148).
So Surreal filly Eye Popping was purchased by Scott DiDomenico for $45,000 to occupy the second spot on the top-seller list. Eye Popping, bred by Steve Jones, is the first foal out of the Dragon Again mare Paramelons Hanover, a half-sister to Pirouette Hanover (Western Ideal, 1:50 3/5, $608,759).
Muscles Yankee placed two yearlings in the top five, with Bronze Yankee going to Blake MacIntosh for $42,000 (third overall) and Kosher Muscles purchased by TLB Stable for $35,000 (fifth overall). Bronze Yankee, bred by Winbak Farm, is out of the Balanced Image mare Brontease and is a half-brother to Utopia (Mutineer, 1:52 2/5, $220,988), and Kosher Muscles, bred by Eric Taddeo, is out of the Credit Winner mare Kosher Winner.
Finishing fourth of the top five sellers was Demimonde Hanover, a Sebastian K filly who went to Mark Ford for $36,000. A Hanover Shoe Farms Inc.-bred, she is out of the Broadway Hall mare Daddy's Lhasa, making her a half-sister to My Cousin Vinnie (Yankee Glide, 1:57 1/5, $159,757).
116 yearlings passed through the sales ring in total, bringing an average of $12,912. This average represented a 10 percent decline from the 2017 edition of the Goshen Yearling Sale, where 110 head fetched an average of $14,323.
