Harness: Super Chapter, Prince Hal Hanover enter Top 10

Super Chapter and Prince Hal Hanover joined the Top 10 while Odds On Mr Mamba led an unchanged top seven in the Week 2 edition of the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll released Wednesday (June 24).

Super Chapter improved to 2-for-2 this season with a win in a division of the Graduate Series for 4-year-old trotters at the Meadowlands. He entered the rankings at No. 8.

Prince Hal Hanover earned his fourth victory of the season with a win in a division of the Graduate Series for 4-year-old pacers at the Big M. He joined the Top 10 at No. 10.

The only horses from the Week 1 Top 10 in action last week were Loua Dipa and On To Norway. Loua Dipa, ranked No. 2, captured a division of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes for 3-year-old female pacers at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania. On To Norway, ranked No. 6, saw his win streak that dated to last year ended at 27 when he finished second to Mr Mouton in the other Graduate division for trotters at the Meadowlands.

Odds On Mr Mamba received 30 of 35 first-place votes, an increase of one from last week. Loua Dipa received four first-place votes, up two from last week, while On To Norway dropped three first-place votes, leaving him with one.

Beau Jangles and Be Perfect BG, both idle, dropped out of the Top 10.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which will continue weekly on Wednesdays through the Grand Circuit season, does not determine year-end awards. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year, and Horse of the Year.
