As originally reported by harnessracing.com, the Standardbred Horse Sale annually conducted in Harrisburg, PA, will not take place at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show Complex in 2020. According to President and CEO Paul "Pete" F. Spears, the search continues for a new location and all options are being considered. "Standardbred is currently considering a number of alternate venues inside and outside PA," said Spears. "We are targeting our current dates, but if conditions or goals require, we are also flexible about dates depending on consignor and customer needs. Our goal is to conduct a live auction successfully while observing necessary COVID-19 restrictions." The 2020 auction, one of the two biggest sales for yearlings in the U.S., was slated to commence on November 3 and last for three days, followed by a two-day mixed sale.
