Was 6^th at the half, went first over from a tough spot pacing a :26 3/5 third quarter, pushed the tough even money favorite, was shaken off but held gamely considering

THE DARK SHADOW*** –

Improving three year old left and tucked, brushed to the lead at the half and drew off impressively with back-to-back :27 2/5 quarters

Trotter left fast from post 8, parked a horse to a :26 4/5 quarter, yielded, regained the lead before the half and gave way grudgingly to the favorite late

Was 6^th at the quarter, went first over a long way, reached the leader at the half, kept the pressure on through a :28 1/5 third quarter, was shaken off but held gamely for the show
