Broke before the start and was 20 lengths behind, gained a ton of ground while following cover and finished fastest of all to hit the board
BRIEF'S BOY -
Was 9th at the quarter, followed cover 4th over and finished well in :26 flat
JPS MINI ME -
7th early and 11 lengths behind, made a sustained first over grind pacing a :54 2/5 middle-half to reach the leader and held gamely for the place

Was hurt by poor cover, brushed three wide around the final turn and rallied steadily

Classy sort shipped back in from Cal Expo, where he was racing in the Open, saved ground from post 6, rushed up along the inside on the final turn while appearing full of pace and just missed with a solid rally along the inside
CONNERY BLUE CHIP-
Left well and was three wide around the first turn, took back and was considering taking a tuck third, but driver Eric Carlson declined the tuck and quarter moved to the lead, kept pressure at bay and had plenty left to hold sway
MR HASANI -
Left from post 6 and tucked 4th approaching the quarter, went first over against a sharp favorite and held well
