C L SPORTACTION – Moved at the quarter while 9th, followed poor cover but gained steadily making up good ground, rallied wide for the drive and finished well for the show

B YOYO – Trotter followed cover while stymied by the very slow pace, swung wide for the drive and finished fast for the place, last quarter in :26 2/5

BETTER THAN CASH – Left and was parked to the lead in :26 4/5, set the pace against the bias and held okay

NIRVANA SEELSTER – Left strongly from post 9 to the lead, yielded, regained and got to the half in :53, weakened late fading to 4th in a blanket finish, good effort

DRACHAN HANOVER – Was 9th, followed cover three wide at the three quarters, was still 9th at the top of the stretch and finished quickly for the show

RUNNING ACES

7/21: 4w, + speed, leavers did very well Saturday and Sunday

7/20: 4w, + speed

ROCKIN SPEED – Left and was parked to the lead in :26 2/5, set a brisk pace and held well for the place

HAWTHORNE

7/21: 4w, no bias

7/20: 2w, + closers

7/19: 2w, no bias

HARD HEADED WOMEN – Was third over behind poor cover, finished gamely to be 2nd best behind the 1/2 winner

LATE NIGHT JOKE – Was 9th at the half, followed cover, swung wide late on the final turn and finished with solid pace for the place, last quarter in :27 2/6

NORTHFIELD

7/22: 5w, no bias

7/20: 8w, + speed

MODERN GESTURE – Was 8th at the half and fourth over, went three wide late on the final turn and finished sharply for the place from a tough spot

CLASSIC GENT – Was 7th at the three quarters behind weak cover, swung three wide late on the final turn and finished gamely for the show from a tough spot

HOOSIER

7/20: 5w, no bias

7/19: 2w, no bias

SOUTHWIND SCORPION – Left from post 5 and was parked to the lead in :26 2/5, set a fast pace under constant pressure, weakened late to finish 5th but lost by less than a length in a blanket finish

DEE ROCKS – Left from post 7 and was used hard three deep to the lead in :26 1/5, set a fast pace and excusably tired, losing by four lengths

QUEEN OF THE PRIDE – Left from post 7, followed the six horse then lost cover at the quarter, continued to the lead at the 3/8’s, set a fast pace under pressure and held well for the show

BENJI’S BEST*** – Left from post 7 and was used hard in a three way pace duel to take the lead past a :26 4/5 first quarter, set a fast pace, drew off down the backstretch and won by 15 lengths

FOX VALLEY INFERNO – Left from post 7 and was parked to the lead past a :26 3/5 opener, set a quick pace and was a game second behind the sharp 3/5 winner

MEADOWLANDS

7/20: 6w, no bias, hot and humid, last post time of 8:00 p.m., but 92 degrees at post time

7/19: 6w, no bias

SPROCKET – Left alertly from post 6 and parked a horse to the lead in :26 2/5, yielded, was shuffled in tight quarters and blocked behind horses in the stretch while appearing to have pace

LYONS WILLIAM – Left slowly from post 7 then made a long sustained move to take the lead passing the half, set the pace from there and excusably weakened late, only losing by 3 lengths

DAVID THE SAINT – Left well from post 6 and yielded, was shuffled to 6th in tight quarters along the inside and cleared late with some pace

ON DUTY – Had post 10, was hustled from the gate blasting to the lead in :26 1/5, set a brisk pace under second-half pressure and held well for the show

ON THE ROPES – Trotter was 7th behind sluggish cover, swung wide late on the final turn and finished gamely for the show with solid late trot

ART LECTURE – Was 7th at the half, followed poor cover, swung three wide at the three quarters and finished gamely for the show from a tough spot

BIG JER – Was 10th at the half behind a slow pace in an impossible spot, followed cover 4th over, swung four wide late on the final turn and finished steadily from a tough spot

MAJESTIC FIRE – Was 8th at the half, followed cover and finished with solid trot for the show

TIOGA

7/22: 5w, no bias

7/21: 8w, no bias, or maybe a mild speed bias, but two horses rallied to win from 7th, and the front running winners were logical

7/20: 1w, no bias

7/19: 6w, no bias

MONTICELLO

7/22: 2w, no bias, fast races 1-3, sloppy races 3-7

YONKERS

7/22: 3w, no bias, sloppy track

7/20: 7w, + speed, hot and humid night

7/19: 6w, + speed, not a sever bias, two horses did rally to win off cover trips

HALF A BILLION – Was 6th at the quarter, power-brushed to the lead before the half and miss by a neck

GRATIAN HANOVER – Grinded first over against a sharp 4/5 front runner and held well for the show

RONNIES ROCKET – Was 6th at the half, followed cover third over and finished sharply for the place
