Harness: Sharp Horses and Track Trends from January 29 - January 31
MOHAWK
1/31: 5w, no bias
NORTHFIELD
1/29: 14w, +++ speed, very cold, track listed as “frozen”, extreme speed bias, seemed impossible to win from off the pace
MIAMI VALLEY
1/29: 5w, no bias, cold night
NO TROUBLE HERE –
Was 7th at the half, followed cover three wide around a tiring horse, made up good ground through the middle-half, went evenly late; may be coming around
TRIXSEN GRAM –
Left and was three wide to the quarter and then parked first over pushing a quick pace, held the show
DOVER
1/31: 7w, + speed
1/30: 8w, + speed
1/29: 4w, no bias, off track
FILLED DONUT –
Trotter left from post 7 and was used hard to the lead in :27 1/5 over an off track, set a hot opening half, yielded on the final turn and excusably weakened
QUOTABLE QUOTES –
Had post 6, was shuffled to 8th, followed cover and finished sharply for the place
SENTENCING MEMO –
Left and was parked the mile without cover, prompted the pace, held okay
THE MEADOWS
1/29: 1w, + closers, off track
TOOTHOFTHEDRAGON –
Left well and yielded, was shuffled way back to 7th and out of the race
YONKERS
1/31: 8w, + speed
1/29: 2w, no bias, sloppy track, five first over winners, the others all left, hard to gauge the bias but the track seemed a bit tiring, not easy to go wire to wire
