Harness: Sharp Horses and Track Trends for February 28 to March 2

Bob Pandolfo|Mar 07, 2017

NORTHFIELD

3/1: 7w, + speed

2/28: 9w, + speed

ILIKEIREALHOT –

Left and got caught in a speed duel, forced the quick pace, excusably tired

WELLTHEREYOUGO –

Left from post 8 and tucked 5th, rushed up first over approaching the half, pressed the pace hard, wore down the favorite to take the lead in the stretch and just missed

MIAMI VALLEY

2/28: 9w, + speed

ST’S ESTEEM –

Trotter had post 6, left and tucked, rushed up at the half, kept the heat on through a :28 2/5 third quarter, couldn’t clear, weakened but held okay in an improved effort

AMASA AL –

Moved before the quarter to follow cover, was 8th, had to brush three wide when his cover tired, made a sustained three wide move to enter contention, flattened out

POMPANO

3/1: 6w, + speed

2/28: 2w, no bias

DOVER

3/2: 9w, + speed

3/1: 4w, no bias, sloppy track

2/28: 4w, no bias

BUNDORAN –

Power-brushed to the lead with a :28 1/5 second quarter, ripped off a :27 4/5 third quarter and drew clear

HUSTINGS HANOVER –

Left from post 7, broke midway on the first turn and was taken back to last, followed cover, swung wide late on the final turn and finished gamely

WHO DAT HEATHER –

Had post 6, moved at the quarter on a long first over grind, paced a :27 4/5 third quarter, was shaken off but it was a tough trip

DEWEY BEACH –

Had post 8, followed cover, ducked in down the back, made up good ground through the middle half and finished willingly for the show; price factor in exotics

THE MEADOWS

3/1: 4w, no bias

2/28: 2w, no bias, off track

TERROR O –

Finished quickly from third over to gain the place

ZERO THE HERO –

Left from post 8 and was parked to the lead past a :27 1/5 opener, yielded to the 4-5 winner and held well for the show

SKULL OF ROSES –

Was parked the mile without cover from post 6, prompted the pace, held gamely

FREEHOLD

3/2: 2w, no bias

MEADOWLANDS

3/2: 2w, no bias

MONTICELLO

3/2: 9w, ++ speed

3/1: 5w, + speed

2/28: 5w, + speed

HOBOKEN HANOVER –

Was outside a long way from post 7, grinded uncovered into contention and finished gamely for the place

RHAGEAL –

Had post 7, made up ground steadily and finished well in the stretch

YONKERS

3/2: 4wm ni buas

2/28: 5w, ++ speed, strong inside speed bias, 10 of the 11 races were won by either the pocket horse or the pacesetter, 8 races won by posts 1 or 2

TYLER THE TERROR*** -

Had post 7, followed weak cover and finished strongly for the show over a track that appeared to be favoring leavers in a big way

HERE WE GO AGAIN –

Went first over against a 2-5 shot, paced a :27 third quarter, held well to be 2nd best
