NORTHFIELD

2/17: 8w, + speed, off track, cold night, temperatures dropped steadily

2/16: 3w, no bias

2/15: 2w, + closers, unusually tiring for this track, 6 favorites faded on the front end and 5 horses rallied to win off cover trips

WINDS OF TERROR*** -

Left sharply from the rail, set a fast pace against the bias under constant pressure, put two pace rivals away, weakened late but held gamely for the show

SAND SAVAGE -

Left and got into a wicked speed duel on a tiring track, gave way in the stretch but I wouldn't hold it against him, holding form

DOVER DOWNS

2/17: 3w, no bias

2/16: 6w, no bias, off track

2/15: 3w, no bias, sloppy track, races 13-15 canceled

JUST N BERLANDER -

Was first over a long way, made up good ground through the middle-half, pressed a :28 2/5 third quarter over the sloppy track and held gamely for the place

NOVA ARTIST -

Classy veteran had post 7, followed weak cover and finished solidly to be right there in a three way blanket finish

SPEED AGAIN -

Left and was parked hard to the lead in :26 1/5 in the slop, set a quick pace under second-half pressure and finished a game third beaten by two noses

COMMANDO K -

Trotter had post 8, grinded for a while then picked up cover, finished well from a tough spot to get the show

THE MEADOWS

2/17: 3w, no bias, sloppy track

2/16: 4w, no bias, sloppy track

2/15: 4w, no bias

FOX VALLEY AUBRY -

Left from post 7 three wide into turn one, was parked to the lead in :27 3/5, yielded, was shuffled to 4th, found room along the inside in the stretch and went evenly to miss by a length in a good effort

SET ME UP -

Left sharply from post 7 and was used hard to the lead in :26 3/5, paced a :27 third quarter to stave off pressure and gave way grudgingly to the pocketed favorite late

SNICKERDOODLE -

Left from post 6 and tucked 4th, went first over pushing a :28 1/5 third quarter and held okay, only lost by 2 lengths

FREEHOLD

2/15: 5w, + speed, off track

MONTICELLO

2/18: 4w, no bias

2/17: 8w, + speed

2/16: 5w, no bias, sloppy track

EXCELLENT CHANCE -

Quarter moved and got hung out on a tough first over grind, held okay in an improved effort; price factor in exotics now

YONKERS

2/16: 4w, no bias, sloppy track

2/15: 1w, + closers, sloppy tiring track, races 8-12 canceled
