Harness: Sharp Horses and Track Trends from December 21 - December 23

Bob Pandolfo|Dec 27, 2018

MOHAWK

12/22: 4w, no bias

12/21: 4w, no bias

OFFICER –

Was 7th at the half, followed cover, followed cover three wide at the three quarters and finished sharply to miss by a neck in a solid placing

RAMBLINGAMBLINMAN –

Was 7th at the quarter, followed cover, went wide late on the final turn and finished with good pace to just miss

NORTHFIELD

12/23: 5w, no bias, off track

12/22: 5w, no bias, off track

TANGO STAR –

Left from post 8, lost cover at the quarter and continued without cover, took control on the final turn and drew off

IDA SOFIA –

Left from post 8 and was used hard to the lead on the second turn, set the pace and held gamely for the place

DAYTON

12/22: 6w, no bias

12/21: 4w, no bias, off track

HASH-TAG SWAG –

Left and was parked the mile without cover, forced a quick pace, only lost by four lengths

SPORTS SINNER –

Left from post 5 and was parked to the lead in :27 1/5, set a quick pace under constant pressure and held on for a game win

BLOOMING GENIUS –

Left from post 7 and was parked the mile without cover, pressed a quick pace against a stubborn front runner, weakened late but only lost by four lengths

THE MEADOWS

12/22: 3w, no bias, off track

12/21: 4w, no bias, sloppy track

FREEHOLD

12/22: 6w, + speed

12/21: 2w, no bias, sloppy track

BELLA RAGAZA –

Left from post 6, was parked to the half then tucked in the pocket, held the show

MEADOWLANDS

12/22: 5w, + closers, I thought the track was tiring, even though there were five horses that had the lead and held on this 14 race card; not a severe bias but I’d call it a tiring track

12/21: 2w, + closers

FOUR STACES –

Left from post 9 and tucked 5th, was in tight quarters into the stretch, angled across the track for clearance and was flying late to miss by a diminishing head

ROBYN CAMDEN –

Had post 6 in her U.S. debut, was indecisive at the start, left belatedly and weakly before being taken back into a tuck 6th, was unable to flush cover and grinded first over from a tough spot, never reached the leader but paced a :54 last half in a fine effort off the layoff
