Quarter-moved and got hung out forcing a fast pace, wore down the favorite to take the lead but was excusably out-kicked late while finishing third, beaten only two heads

MODESTY –

Was 8^th at the half behind a soft pace, followed cover, finished gamely from a tough spot to get the place with a :26 2/5 last quarter in an improved effort off the drop

MAGIC N SPICE –

Trotter saved ground and was shuffled to 8^th while trapped inside, swung out behind horses in the stretch, cleared in midstretch and was moving well late to get the show
