Harness: Ron Burke goes past $300 million in earnings

On a day where he sent out horses at seven different racetracks across the United States, Ron Burke became the first trainer in harness racing history to exceed the $300,000,000 mark in earnings.

Burke is one of just three North American-based trainers, along with Jimmy Takter and Erv Miller, to be in nine figures, and he's almost $170 million ahead of the now-retired Takter.

He joins a select group of trainers across both harness and Thoroughbred racing in the $300 million club, too, as only Todd Pletcher, Steve Asmussen, Bob Baffert, and Bill Mott have achieved that milestone, per the Equibase database.

Of course, Burke is also the winningest trainer in the history of either Standardbred or Thoroughbred racing, with his total sitting at 13,666 at the time of writing.
