Harness: Ponda Tuna heads Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale results
HIP 317 Ponda Tuna, a Rebuff colt, wound up at the top of the 2026 Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale after he fetched a winning bid of $120,000 on Friday at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Bred and consigned by Pond-A-Acres, Ponda Tuna is the second foal out of Perfect Stick, a Big Stick Lindy mare who won 20 races, earned $253,663 and took a mark of 1:53 2/5 during her career. Ponda Tuna was purchased by Anthony Lombardi.
The two-day event wound up higher in average and lower in gross than 2025's edition of the Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale. The average for 420 yearlings sold was $18,702, an increase over last year's $15,912, while the gross declined to $7,855,000 from $9,531,500 when 599 yearlings were offered.
