It was another night of gains on Friday at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale as the average of $29,629 for 124 yearlings sold was up 16.1% over the corresponding night last year.
The top seller on the night was HIP 442 Mettle, a Trixton colt who went to Celebrity Farms for $180,000. Consigned by Hunterton Sales Agency Inc., Mettle is the fourth foal out Angelette Hanover, a Yankee Glide mare who earned $317,892 and was second in the Breeders Crown as a 2-year-old.
The average of each night has been up versus 2016 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and the sale is now level year-over-year.
There will be one final session to pick up a yearling at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale as HIPs 561-649 sell on Saturday beginning at 7 P.M.
