HIP 323 Muzzle The Yakker, an Explosive Matter filly, brought $200,000 from Sweden's Reijo Liljendahl to top Thursday night's session at the 2018 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.

Muzzle The Yakker, bred and consigned by Winbak Farm, is the second foal out of Baileys Breeze, an Angus Hall half-sister to $1.31 million earner Casual Breeze (King Conch).

Nine yearlings entered six figures for the session, with HIP 314 Torrent following Muzzle The Yakker at $162,000. Torrent, a filly by Father Patrick, is out of Downpour (Donato Hanover), making her a three-quarter sister to recent Kentucky Sires Stakes champion 2-year-old colt trotter Forecast (Cantab Hall, $201,530). Torrent was consigned by breeder Diamond Creek Farm and was purchased by agent Jim Glass.

HIP 330 Perfect was the top-selling pacer, bringing $135,000 from Willow Oak Ranch. Perfect, a daughter of American Ideal bred and consigned by Steve Jones and his Cameo Hills Farm, is out of double millionaire Glowing Report (Artsplace) and is a half-sister to Net Ten Eom (Somebeachsomewhere, $141,176).

Just before the night ended, HIP 445 Seventimesalady was acquired by Ake Svanstedt Inc. for $132,000. Seventimesalady, a Chapter Seven filly bred by Jeff Gural's LLC., was part of the Northwood Bloodstock Agency consignment. She is out of Ava Marion (Cantab Hall), making her a half-sister to Svanstedt trainee Lucky Ava (Lucky Chucky, $365,597).

The top five was completed by a trio of $130,000 sellers and among these was HIP 376 Barney Google, a colt from the first crop of Artspeak. Barney Google, bred by Robert Mondillo, Michael Robinson, Donald Robinson, and Steve Cheatham, sold from the Hunterton Sales Agency consignment and went to Ecurie CSL. Barney Google is the first foal out of Oogle Google (Real Desire), a half-sister to the likes of Nikki Beach (Somebeachsomewhere, $474,495).

Tonight's session saw 162 yearlings sold for a total of $6,756,000 and an average of $41,704. Both these numbers were down from last year, when 160 head sold for a sum of $7,615,000 and an average of $47,594. Through three nights, the sale is still up about 5.5 percent year-over-year.

The 2018 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale continues on Friday night with HIPS 449-610 on offer. For full sale results through Thursday night, click here.
