Harness: Muscling Vegas leads Ontario Select Yearling Sale
The 2021 Ontario Select Yearling Sale took place on Sunday afternoon at Winbak Farm of Canada, and the topper was HIP 15 Muscling Vegas, who went for $75,000.
Muscling Vegas, a daughter of Muscle Mass-Vegas Virgin, was purchased by Christopher Storms from the Twinbrook Farms consignment. Bred by Hayley and James Moore, Muscling Vegas is a full sister to Mischevious Rose, who raced in Saturday night's Mohawk Million.
Twinbrook also had HIP 102 Extreme Force, a Bettor's Delight colt who was acquired by Sylvain Descheneaux for $72,000. Extreme Force, who was bred by David Goodrow, is the third foal out of the Art Major mare Mystic Dance, a full sister to Rave On (1:50 2/5, $384,202).
"We are ecstatic with the results from the sale," said Pat Woods, Sale Manager. "On behalf of the sale company's owners, Joe and JoAnn Thomson, the sale team and myself, I would like to thank each of our consignors, yearling inspectors, bidders and buyers for the support.

"We sold 119 yearlings for an average of close to $20,000 and 43 of those yearlings sold for $20,000 or more. We believe that having both virtual and in-person options for bidding allowed people to choose their personal best option."
From sires that sold five or more yearlings, the leading pacing stallion was Shadow Play with 10 sold at an average of $25,000 and the leading trotting stallion was My MVP with seven sold at an average of $24,500. This is the first crop of Ontario-sired yearlings from My MVP. Both stallions stand at Winbak Farm of Canada.
