Harness: Mixed sale kicks off in Harrisburg
Trotting mares were in high demand in the opening mixed session of the Standardbred Horse Sale on Thursday in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Topping the action was HIP 975 Another Like Me, a 3-year-old Muscle Hill filly, at $400,000. Selling as part of the Libfeld-Katz dispersal, she was a buy-back for Libfeld. Libfeld also paid $350,000 to take back HIP 983 Cantab It All, a Cantab Hall mare who produced back-to-back Hambletonian Oaks champions in All The Time and Ariana G.
Insta Glam, a 5-year-old Father Patrick mare, also hit $350,000 and went to Armitage Farm. Insta Glam, who was a multi-time stakes winner during her racing career, was consigned by agent Concord Stud Farm. Armitage Farm also got HIP 1121 Grand Fashion for $300,000. A 3-year-old Walner filly, she's a full sister to last year's Hambletonian Oaks champion Fashion Schooner and a half-sister to double Dan Patch Award winner Broadway Donna. Consigned by Preferred Equine Marketing, she was last bred to Tactical Landing.
Just ahead of Grand Fashion at $310,000 was Exile, who was purchased by Paul Spears of Windsong Stable. Exile is a daughter of Walner who is the highest-priced yearling trotting filly sold at public auction ($800,000 in 2021 at Lexington). She was last bred to Muscle Hill & was consigned by Diamond Creek.
