Harness: Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale starts
The second edition of the Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale got going on Thursday at the Indiana State Fairgrounds with two horses going for $110,000 to lead the action.
HIP 192 Bluebird Grace, a Swan For All filly, was the first to fetch $110,000, and she was purchased by Pat De Long. Bred and consigned by Bluebird Meadows, Bluebird Grace is out of the Chapter Seven mare Gracefilly Hanover, a Chapter Seven sister to 2017 Hambletonian champion Perfect Spirit.
A few horses later, HIP 198 Tells Rollin Again was purchased by Burke Racing Stable LLC. for $110,000. A daughter of Tellitlikeitis from the consignment of breeder Victory Hill Farm, Tells Rollin Again is a full sister to Tells On A Roll [1:48 2/5, $781,876].

Both the average (from $26,648 to $18,595) and gross (from $5,143,000 for 198 yearlings to $3,905,000 for 210 yearlings) declined from last year, but the format of the sale was a bit different in 2025, so that may have played a role.
HIPs 222-439 will be available to purchase on Friday as the two-day event wraps up.
