HIP 105 Lightning Rocks, a Pet Rock colt, was the top seller at Friday's Ohio Selected Jug Sale at the Brave Horse Show Park in Johnstown, bringing $100,000 from Burke Racing Stable LLC.

Selling from the Spring Haven Farm consignment, Lightning Rocks is out out the Four Starzzz Shark mare Shark Lightning. She is a half-sister to three six-figure earners (McArdles Lightning, Lightning Paige), and Bettor Win, and has produced the Sweet Lout colt Love Me Some Lou (1:50 4/5, $216,452).

Rose Run Wasaki (McArdle-Victoria Gallery-Western Terror) went for $84,000 to Cory Deyermand to check in second on the day. Rose Run Farm consigned this filly, a half-sister to Rose Run Uptowngal (Dragon Again, 1:51 3/5, $193,949).

Midland Acres sold Yankee Cruiser colt Cruising Crazy to Here's To Us Stable for $65,000. Out of O Narutac Rockette (Rocknroll Hanover, 1:53 1/5, $84,390), Cruising Crazy is a half-brother to Rockette Baby (Big Bad John, 1:52 1/5, $79,782).

Four horses, two by Uncle Peter and a pair by Full Count, rounded out the top sellers list:

-Aunt Lil (Uncle Peter-All In The Muscles-Muscles Yankee), consigned by agent Double Spring Farm, went to Burke Racing Stable LLC.

-Miss Meringue (Uncle Peter-Top Tart-Andover Hall), consigned by agent Lmn Bred Stables, Inc., was taken by thestable.ca

-Diva Deville (Full Count-Celebrity Deville-Andover Hall), consigned by Steiner Stock Farm, was purchased by Miles Wollam

-Declared Lawful (Full Count-Pretty Amigo-Amigo Hall), consigned by Marvin Raber Farms, also was acquired by Wollam.

The sale finished virtually flat on average year-over-year. This year 243 horses sold for an average of $20,383, while last year those numbers were 242 and $20,370.
