Harness: Last call for Tattersalls Winter Mixed Sale

Tattersalls reminds owners and trainers that entries for the upcoming Winter Mixed Sale will close early next week. Entries may be phoned in during business hours at (914) 773-7777 or submitted 24/7 on the online entry form page at tattersallsredmile.com.

The sale will be held on its traditional date, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 17 in the Meadowlands race paddock.

"I expect the Winter Mixed to continue the trend that's been carried through from the fall yearling sales to the Harrisburg Mixed," said sale manager David Reid. "There's no shortage of money for good horses, and sellers can expect to be well rewarded if they bring quality racehorses that are in good form.

"At the recently concluded Harrisburg Mixed Sale, most consignors felt that horses were selling beyond expectations. That included raceway horses and race fillies that were bought for their breeding value."

Long a fixture on the industry's annual auction calendar, the sale bills itself as 'the winter racehorse marketplace' and lives up to that tagline. With the easy access the Meadowlands provides from all eastern racetracks and training centers, attendees are always greeted by large crowds and brisk trade.

The sale features horses of all ages - broodmares, broodmare prospects, stallion shares and breedings, short yearlings and racehorses.
