The three-day yearling-only portion of the catalog at this year's Standardbred Horse Sale came to a conclusion on Wednesday with year-over-year increases in both the average and the gross.

This year, a total of 886 horses went through the ring for a sum of $40,040,000 and an average price of $45,192, while in last year's yearling-only sessions, those numbers were 864, $36,030,000 and $41,701. That means there was an 11.1% hike in the gross and an 8.3% climb in the average versus 2025.

Ontario-based Dean and Ashley Wilson were the leading consignor in terms of average at $87,833 for their six offerings, followed by agent Blue Chip Farms, LLC. ($81,308 for their 13 yearlings), Twinbrook Farms ($67,111 / 9), Concord Stud Farm ($67,056 / 108) and agent Winbak Sales Agency ($60,250 / 4)

Walner wound up as the top sire by average at $165,800 for his 15 yearlings. Chapter Seven was second at $134,742 for 31 horses, with Sweet Lou ($103,000 / 28), Muscle Hill ($98,214 / 28) and Bulldog Hanover ($90,389 / 18) completing the top five.

New York-eligibles led the regional average rankings with $59,180 for 139 horses. New Jersey was next at $56,707 for 99 yearlings, trailed by Ontario ($53,025 / 119), Pennsylvania ($38,781 / 457) and Kentucky ($36,115 / 26).

HIP 724 Theo The King, a King Of The North-Hp Guccio Girl colt consigned by Concord Stud Farm as agent, led Wednesday's session after Nikway Farms purchased him for $150,000. Theo The King is a sibling to the likes of Asian Zing, an earner of $311,586, and Black Gold, who banked $260,369 during her racing career.

The remainder of the Standardbred Horse Sale will be comprised of the mixed sale that begins on Thursday and continues into Friday. HIPs 951-1296 and 1600 in the supplement book will be available on Thursday and HIPs 1301-1515 plus 1601-1604 in the supplement book on Friday. Both of those sessions start at 11 A.M.
