Harness: Huntsville progeny in high demand at Goshen Yearling Sale

Huntsville's second crop dominated Monday's Goshen Yearling Sale at the Mark Ford Training Center in Middletown, New York, taking the first 13 positions in the top sellers list.
HIP 114 Malta Magic, a filly bred by Eric Taddeo and selling from the consignment of agent Cameo Hills Farm grabbed the #1 spot, going to Hunter Oakes for $67,000. Malta Magic is the sixth foal out of the Bettor's Delight mare JK Black Beauty (1:52, $191,027), which makes her a half-sister to JK American Beauty (American Ideal, 1:50 1/5, $478,977).
Coming behind Malta Magic at $62,000 were HIP 79 Bet On Buter and HIP 112 Back To Hicksville, both consigned by Cameo Hills Farm. Bet On Buter, a colt bred by Steve Jones and Buter Farm Inc., was purchased by Rocknroll Stable. He is the fifth foal out of the Keystone Raider mare Billmar Scooter (1:49 2/5, $804,259). Back To Hicksville, a filly, was acquired by Brian Doyle and is the third foal out of unraced Allamerican Native mare I Am A Snob, making her a half-sister to So Rude (So Surreal, 1:52 1/5, $229,471).

The highest-priced non-Huntsville was HIP 84 Night Star, a trotting colt from the first crop of Met's Hall. Bred and consigned by Winbak Farm, Night Star, who was bought by Douglas Overhiser for $32,000, is the first foal out of the unraced Archangel mare Celestial Angel.
In all, 122 horses sold for a gross of $2,108,600 and an average of $17,284. This average was up 17 percent from a year ago ($14,767). Thirty-six more horses went through the ring this year versus 2020's edition.
