Harness: Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale wraps up
Continuing trends displayed throughout the market so far in 2022, the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale concluded on Saturday with gains in both gross and average from last year.
The total gross for 399 yearlings was $9,030,700 and the average wound up at $22,633. That gross was up from $8,756,000 last year (17 more horses sold last year than this year) and the average was up 5.5 percent from 2021's $21,441.
The top seller on Saturday at the Indiana State Fairgrounds was HIP 381 Mystical Oz Park, a Tellitlikeitis colt who sold to Jeff Fought Racing for $168,000. Bred by Mystical Marker Farms LLC. and consigned by Victory Hill Farm as agent, Mystical Oz Park is out of the Sportsmaster mare Mystical Victress [1:50, $846,713] and is a full brother to Mystical Carrie [1:48 3/5, $489,228].
