Harness: Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale underway
The Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale began on Friday afternoon, and there would be a pair of horses to sell for $100,000 during the session.
The first of the six-figure sellers was HIP 144 Sick For It who sold to W.J. Donovan. A Rockin Image colt consigned by David Wayne Yoder, agent for Doyle Miller, Sick For It is the first foal out of Shes Glorious (The Panderosa, 1:54 1/5, $139,114). Shes Glorious is a half-sister to the likes of Rock To Glory (Rocknroll Hanover, 1:49 2/5, $898,010).
The other $100,000 baby was HIP 174 Bridge To Success, who was purchased by William De Long. Bridge To Success, a Jailhouse Jesse colt, was consigned by Wilt Standardbred and is out of the Angus Hall mare Bridge To Nowhere, making Bridge To Success a full brother to the De Long family's Bridge To Jesse's (1:51 1/5, $920,455).
A total of 186 horses were sold on Friday, bringing a total of $3,593,000 and an average of $19,317. That was down from the first session of last year's Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale when 184 yearlings went through the ring for a gross of $3,735,000 and an average of $20,299.
The sale will conclude tomorrow beginning at 10 A.M. HIPS 191-370 will be offered.
