Harness: Gains on opening day of Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale
The first session of the 2024 Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale was held on Friday afternoon at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. A total of 173 yearlings passed through the sale ring. The group grossed $4.53 million and averaged $26,211, an increase of over 25 percent over last year.
Two yearlings topped the session with $145,000 final bids. Rockin Image filly Ponda Type, HIP 132, was the first to fetch the top bid out of the Pond-A-Acres consignment. Three horses later, Tellitlikeitis colt Whatitisyo, consigned by Bontrager Stables, brought the same amount. Both yearlings were purchased by Pat DeLong.
