Harness: Fourth session of 2020 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale completed
HIP 637 Fight Song, a colt by Kadabra, was sold to the David Anderson/John Fielding partnership for $72,000 to lead Thursday night's session at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.
Out of the Muscle Hill mare Fortunes Of Fables and consigned by Cane Run Farm as agent, Fight Song is a half-brother to stakes-winning Cantab Hall mare Fade Into You ($215,628, 1:54 4/5).
HIPs 556 Bethereinaprosecco and 577 Unity In One shared second at $65,000. Bethereinaprosecco, a daughter of Bar Hopping acquired by JB Racing from the consignment of Kentuckiana Farms, is the first foal out of the stakes-placed Yankee Glide mare Thankful Reward, who took a 2-year-old record of 1:53 4/5 at The Red Mile. She is also from the family of CR Kay Suzie. Unity In One, a Cantab Hall colt, went to agent Jenny Melander. Hunterton Sales Agency (agent) consigned Unity In One, a Cantab Hall colt who is a half-brother to She Rocks Kemp, a Kadabra filly who has earned C$254,836 and been victorious in the Ontario Sires Stakes program.
The gross for 169 yearlings sold tonight was $3,703,000 and the average was $21,911. Both fell from 2019 (168 / $4,581,000 / $27,268). The gross was slightly higher than 2018 ($3,698,000 for 159 head sold), but the average was $23,258 that year.
The yearling sale concludes tomorrow with HIPs 685-860 going through the ring, and on Saturday there is the mixed sale portion of the event. Both sessions start at 7 p.m.
