Harness: Final call for Winter Mixed entries

Tattersalls Sales Co. reminds sellers that entries for its Winter Mixed Sale will close at the end of regular business hours on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Those planning to enter may do so by calling (914) 773-7777 or by submitting entries online at tattersallsredmile.com.

The sale, formerly called the January Select Mixed Sale, will be conducted as usual on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 20, in the Meadowlands race paddock.

It will include broodmares, broodmare prospects, stallion shares, short yearlings, and the market segment that’s made the sale famous--racehorses of all ages.

The Tattersalls winter auction has rung up more than $17-million in total sales over the past three years and averaged at or close to $30,000 each year. Last year’s sale topper was the multiple stakes winning Chapter Seven mare Southwind Tesla, at $152,000.

The company urges consignors to enter now to make the main catalog. Benefits of that include racelines and catalog pages posted for a longer period of time for sale shoppers, and the advantage of being included in upcoming promotions.
