Harness: February stakes payment deadlines approaching

Stakes payments for a number of the richest races in the sport are due starting February 15. Below are releases from various sources outlining details on the races, payments and due dates:

Woodbine Mohawk Park

Woodbine Entertainment would like to remind all owners and trainers that the deadline for nominations to the 2025 major stakes at Woodbine Mohawk Park is Saturday, February 15.

Nominations close Saturday (February 15) for the following major stakes:

Pepsi North America Cup (3-Year-Old Pace)

Mohawk Million (2-Year-Old Trot – Slot Purchase deadline February 18)

If sending payments by mail, envelopes must be clearly post marked no later than February 15, 2025 or payment will not be accepted. Registered mail is recommended.

Delaware, Ohio Grand Circuit Payments Due

Sustaining payments for the Little Brown Jug (Grade 1) and the other Grand Circuit events – Jugette (3-year-old filly pace – Grade 1), Old Oaken Bucket (3-year-old open trot – Grade 3) and the Buckette (3-year-old filly trot – Grade 3) – are due February 15. These payments are for foals of 2022.

The sustaining payments are as follows: Little Brown Jug ($750), Jugette ($500), Old Oaken Bucket ($500) and Buckette ($400).

Three-year-old pacers not eligible after February 15 may, with a payment of $45,000, supplement to the Little Brown Jug.

The Little Brown Jug, Old Oaken Bucket and Buckette will be raced Thursday, September 18 and the Jugette on Wednesday, September 17.

The 2025 Delaware Grand Circuit meet will feature five days of racing (Sunday, September 14 through Thursday, September 18).

Meadowlands stakes payments

The Meadowlands stakes payments begin in February and with the payment date falling on a weekend and then a holiday, payments with a postmark of February 18 will be accepted as per regulation.
