Harness: Curtain brought down on 2020 Standardbred Horse Sale

The 2020 Standardbred Horse Sale ended on Saturday with the second session of the mixed sale. Hambletonian finalist Sister Sledge went to agent Robert Lindstrom for $265,000 to lead the list of top sellers.
Sister Sledge was HIP 1817 and was part of the supplement catalog. Consigned by Preferred Equine Marketing, Inc., as agent, the 3-year-old daughter of Father Patrick has 13 wins and $842,815 in career earnings.
Coming in behind Sister Sledge at $225,000 was 4-year-old Captaintreacherous mare Philly Hanover, who was purchased by Joe Parisi. Philly Hanover, who was HIP 1400 and was consigned by Northwood Bloodstock Agency as agent, has ten wins, $363,268 in earnings, and a mark of 1:49 2/5. She raced in the Breeders Crown Open Mare Pace final last Saturday.
HIP 1370 Love Muffin completed the top three as she was acquired by Steve Stewart from Hunterton Farm for $200,000. Another Northwood offering, Love Muffin, a 2-year-old filly by Andover Hall, won the Pennsylvania Stallion Series final, a division of the Keystone Classic, and a Simpson Memorial split this season.
For the two days of the mixed sale, there were 446 horses and stallion shares sold for a total of $12,820,000 and an average of $28,744. Last year there were 663 horses and stallion shares available, and they brought a sum of $27,021,000 and an average of $40,756, and in 2019 those numbers were 619, $18,259,000, and $29,498.
