Harness: On Cloud Nine leads Goshen Yearling Sale

The Goshen Yearling Sale was held on Monday (Sept. 11) in the sales arena at the Mark Ford Training Center, and, despite all the rain, an eager crowd of bidders was on hand in the gallery, while online bidding managed by Cattle In Motion collected remote bids from registered users.

A total of 98 yearlings changed hands, generating sales of $1,752,500, with the overall individual average sale price of $17,883 being achieved.

Cameo Hills Farm had a big afternoon as they sold the sale topper (Hip #101) On Cloud Nine (Huntsville-Wine Snob). The pacing filly was purchased for $75,000 by Ray Schnittker of Middletown, New York.

Cameo Hills also sold the next two highest-priced yearlings in pacing colt (Hip #32) Dune Buggy (Huntsville-Pedigree Snob), who was purchased by David Hamm of Dagsboro, Delaware, and pacing colt (Hip #41) Smart Guy (Huntsville-Glowing Report), who went to the Andy Miller Stable of Allentown, New Jersey. Each sold for $50,000.

Cameo Hills was once again the top consignor of the sale, selling a total of 35 yearlings from their farm and as an agent, for a total of $888,000 (an average of $25,371).

Winbak Farms yielded $285,000 in sales (an average of $14,250). The farm's top price-getter was the trotting filly (Hip #89) Wet Spring (Met's Hall-Summer Sis), who was purchased for $32,000 by All Star Racing of Towaco, New York.

Leatherstocking Equine's total consignment of brought a sum of $242,500 for an average of $18,654 and was led by the farm's top seller (Hip #79) Corner Store, a trotting filly that brought $32,000 from Paul Kelley of Lake Worth, Florida.

Blue Chip Farm's total yearling representation brought $143,999 and averaged $18,000. The farm's top seller was the pacing colt (Hip #74) Wolfgang Blue Chip (Courtly Choice-Hot List), who was sold to Joe Hess of New Milford, New Jersey.

Huntsville was once again the top selling sire in this sale. He had 14 yearlings bring a total of $524,000, averaging $37,429 each. He also was the sire of the top three highest price yearlings going through the sale.
