Harness: Chapter Seven colt Oppenheimer leads Goshen Yearling Sale

The Goshen Yearling Sale was held on Monday (Sept. 9) in the sales arena at the Mark Ford Training Center, and a total of 82 yearlings changed hands, generating sales of $1,202,120, with an overall individual average sale price of $14,660 being achieved.

By category, 22 pacing colts averaged $12,545 each, 28 pacing fillies averaged $15,750 each, 13 trotting colts averaged $19,423 each and 19 trotting fillies averaged $12,242.

Cameo Hills Farm once again had a big afternoon as they sold the sale topper (Hip #50) Oppenheimer (Chapter Seven-Bambino Supreme). The trotting colt was purchased for $57,000 by Ray Schnittker of Middletown, New York.

The second-highest priced horse was also a trotting colt, (Hip #49) Acoustic Blue Chip (Devious Man-Tangible Blue Chip), who was consigned by Blue Chip Farms (Agt.) and sold to Jared Bako of Wallkill, New York for $54,000.

A pair of pacing fillies brought the next highest bids, and they sold for $50,000 each.

(Hip #27) Say Goodnight (Papi Rob Hanover-One Last Kiss) was consigned by Cameo Hills Farm and (Hip #41) Tin Roof Rusted (Huntsville-Shepulledthegoalie), who was consigned by Leatherstocking Equine (Agt.), were both sold to David Hamm of Dagsboro, Delaware.

The top-selling pacing colt was (Hip #69) Aggieville (Huntsville-Certified Ideal), who was consigned by Cameo Hills Farm (Agt.) and sold to Exceed Stable for $40,000.

And the highest price paid for a trotting filly was $35,000 for (Hip #86) Field Unit (The Veteran-Fractured Dream), paid by David Hamm to Leatherstocking Equine.

Cameo Hills was once again the top consignor of the sale, selling a total of 42 yearlings from their farm and as an agent for a total of $620,700 (an average of $14,778). Second was Leatherstocking Equine, whose combined 10 horse consignment brought a total of $227,000 for an average of $22,700.
