Harness: Burke trio headlines 56th Jugette field

The Ron Burke trained trio of Loua Dipa (post 3), Sandyboots Yankee (post 2) and I’m A Lou Lou (post 5) lead the field of eight for the $265,000 Jugette Wednesday (Sept. 23) at the Delaware County Fair.

Loua Dipa (Ronnie Wrenn, Jr.) has earned $1.1 million during her career for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi.

The homebred daughter of Sweet Lou has 13 career wins in 21 starts. She missed a portion of the summer due to throat surgery, and qualified on September 15 at The Meadows in 1:51 2/5.

Stablemate Sandyboots Yankee comes to Delaware on a three-race win streak, including her lifetime best 1:49.4 at The Meadows (Sept. 5) in The Stallion Series Final.

The Always B Miki lass is owned by Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, Larry Karr and Philip Collura.

I’m A Lou Lou, a Sweet Lou filly, is a half-sister to the 2014 Little Brown Jug champion Limelight Beach.

She has earned $385,887 for the quartet of Burke Racing Stable, Knox Services, Larry Karr and Philip Collura.

The supplemental entry Vanna By The River drew post 8 but can improve that position as the results of the $25,000 first heat will determine the post positions for the $240,000 final.
