The 2025 Breeders Crown Charity Challenge is ramping up ahead of Tuesday’s (September 30) cocktail reception and benefit auction at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.

A total of seven breedings to prominent stallions for the 2026 season will be auctioned off at 1 p.m. on Tuesday benefit this year’s Breeders Crown Charity Challenge.

A single breeding is available to each of the following stallions:

The benefit auction will take place just prior to the start of the second session of the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.

To launch Tuesday’s festivities, a cocktail reception will be held at Fasig-Tipton in the Kentucky Room from Noon to 1 p.m. The reception will include remarks from the Hambletonian Society, Woodbine Entertainment, and a special presentation by Marvin Katz, the founder of the Breeders Crown Charity Challenge.

The cocktail reception and benefit auction will be live streamed on Harness Racing Update’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

This year’s Breeders Crown Charity Challenge is raising funds for four local charities near Woodbine Mohawk Park. The four charities have been partnered with an owner/driver team and racing results will play a role in determining the final donations to each charity.

The four Breeders Crown Charity Challenge teams are listed below:

Owner: George Millar (Millar Farms)
Driver: James MacDonald

Team Grant
Charity: Milton District Hospital Foundation
Owner Brad Grant
Driver: Doug McNair

Team Katz
Charity: Peter Munk Cardiac Centre
Owner: Marvin Katz
Driver: Bob McClure

Team Determination
Charity: Kids Help Phone

The Breeders Crown Charity Challenge debuted in 2019 at Woodbine Mohawk Park and has since raised more than $1.8 million for charitable organizations in the Crown host communities.

Further updates regarding funds raised and the standings for this year’s Breeders Crown Charity Challenge will be released later next week.

The 2025 Breeders Crown will take place on October 24 and 25 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
