Harness: Beau Jangles joins Harrisburg mixed sale catalog
:quality(75))
Champion Beau Jangles p,3,1:47 2/5 - '26 ($1,638,611), the only current "Horse of the Year" to ever be offered at public auction, will be featured in the Supplement to the Standardbred Horse Sale in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on Friday, November 6th.
Consigned by Bob Boni's Northwood Bloodstock Agency, Beau Jangles will be joined by the outstanding 2-year-old trotting colt Yankee Boss 2,1:52 - '26 ($177,726), a stakes-winning son of Captain Corey, and the Breeders Crown winner Call Me Goo 4,1:50 4/5 ($1,152,792), now in foal to Chapter Seven and carrying her first foal, as part of the three-horse partnership dispersal.
"It is truly a privilege to represent one of the most dominant pacing colts of the modern era in Beau Jangles, as his undefeated 2-year-old campaign was culminated by his powerful Breeders Crown victory for driver Bob McClure and trainer Ian Moore," Boni remarked. "With his exceptional breeding potential, this is truly a unique opportunity, and in my 50-plus years of coming to Harrisburg, I cannot think of any that could rival him. Without a doubt he possesses every quality to be a great pacing stallion in any program."
Longtime owner and partner Adam Ainspan of Graham Grace Stables, who selected Beau Jangles, called him "the greatest horse we have ever had and a champion by every measure," and Garth Bolton of Bolton Stables and Jonathan Roberts of Kiwi Stables also commented on their champions "commanding physical presence, charisma, limitless ability and the great joy that he brought to so many." All agreed on how much they now look forward to his next chapter and the anticipation of his producing stakes-winning colts and fillies in his image.
In addition to headliner Beau Jangles, the partnership will also be selling the impressive Bluegrass winner Yankee Boss 2,1:52 - '26, the 2-year-old stakes winner of $177,726 to date and a very legitimate 2027 Hambletonian prospect, and the exceptional Breeders Crown winner Call Me Goo 4,1:50 4/5 ($1,152,792), carrying her first foal and in foal to the perennial leading trotting sire Chapter Seven. Clearly the colt or filly she is carrying could be at the very top of the market in the ’28 select sales.
"It has been an honor to work with this ownership group and to represent the very best our sport has to offer," Boni continued. "There is only one Beau Jangles and only one "Horse of the Year" every racing season, and the memory of his record setting undefeated 2-year-old season will never be forgotten. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and someone will be leaving Harrisburg with one of the greatest young pacing champions that we have ever seen."
Hip #1600 Call Me Goo will sell Thursday, November 5th and Hip #1601 Yankee Boss and Hip #1602 Beau Jangles will sell Friday, November 6th.
A fertility report for Beau Jangles will be available at sale.
