Harissa to try stakes in Starlet

Harissa, winner of a maiden special weight race over 1 1/16 miles on Nov. 19, will make her stakes debut in Sunday's Grade 1 Hollywood Starlet, trainer David Hofmans said Wednesday.

Harissa is part of an expected field of eight for the Starlet, which is run over 1 1/16 miles. Beautician and Blind Luck, second and third in the BC Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita on Nov. 6, lead the field, which also is expected to include Amen Hallelujah, Bickersons, It Tiz, Miss Heather Lee, and Suzanne.

Harissa worked five furlongs in 1:01 at Santa Anita on Wednesday, a day in which there were 294 workers on the main track and training track. The track was closed Sunday because of torrential rains over the weekend.
