Happy Ticket wins Seneca

Bossier City, La. - Happy Ticket made her turf debut a successful one on Saturday as she ran her career record to a perfect four-for-four in winning the $50,000 Seneca Stakes. Kaitlin's Rocket was carving into the favorite's lead in the late going but had to settle for second followed by Catlaan.

Ridden once again by Lonnie Meche, Happy Ticket ($4.40) controlled all the pace in the Seneca, much as she had done in three previous dirt sprints. After moderate fractions of :24.27, :50.13 and 1:14.81, she had enough left to withstand the late charge of the runner up and prevailed by a length in a final time of 1:43.03 over firm going. The winner is trained by Andy Leggio for Stewart Madison and Saturday's payday increased her career earnings to $92,700.
