Happy Saver will train up to BC Classic, Pletcher says

Happy Saver, the runner-up to Max Player in Saturday’s Grade 1, $1 million Jockey Club Gold Cup, will train up to the Breeders’ Cup Classic on Nov. 6, trainer Todd Pletcher told the New York Racing Association publicity department Sunday morning.
Pletcher felt Happy Saver was bottled up behind a slow pace in the Jockey Club, but that when he got out, he made a decent run to get second over Forza Di Oro.
“He was wanting to advance, but didn’t really get the opportunity until it was too late,” Pletcher said. “The winner was very good and he got the jump on him. I was happy with his performance and he closed well. He is probably a little better suited to a race where there’s more pace and everybody spreads out a little more.”
Dr Post, who finished third in the Pacific Classic at Del Mar on Aug. 21, is being pointed to the Grade 1, $500,000 Woodward Pletcher said.
