Hanover Raceway: Dream of Glory final won by Remember Titans
Hanover Raceway hosted the C$76,300 Dream of Glory final for 3-year-old Ontario-sired trotters on Saturday afternoon, and it would be Remember Titans getting the victory in a 1:59 1/5 mile.
Odds-on favorite Hot Wheelz (Jody Jamieson) broke stride after the start, throwing the race wide-open, and Remember Titans, driven by Doug McNair, took advantage, leading through panels of 29 1/5, 1:00 2/5, and 1:30 1/5 around the half-mile track on his way to a 1 1/4 length victory. Awesomedabra (Chris Christoforou) rallied from fourth to second in the last quarter, and True Brew (James MacDonald) came in third from a two-hole trip behind the winner.
Shawn Steacy trains Remember Titans, a colt by E L Titan, for owners Landmark 12 Racing Stable, Dale Larson, and A K Malik Stable. This was the trotter's third win from 14 career starts, and he has now banked C$93,642. He returned $6.70 to win.
