Handicapping finals stay at Bally's

The Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship is staying put.

The National Thoroughbred Racing Association announced Friday that it would stage the 2007 event at Bally's Las Vegas, where it has been held the past three years and where it will be held this upcoming January.

The National Handicapping Championship is the final event resulting from a year of qualifying tournaments held at racetracks, offtrack betting sites, casinos, and web sites. This year's finals will be Jan. 27-28, 2006, with the next edition scheduled for Jan. 26-27, 2007.

This year's prize money is $500,000, up $100,000 from last year, with $225,000 going to the winner. A list of remaining qualifying events can be found at drf.com/nhc or ntra.com.
