A 3-year-old who appears to have blossomed once moved to a route looms a key for a play in Saturday’s early pick four at Woodbine (races 4-7).

Race 4

EPILOGUE (#3) showed talent last summer. He’s worked well for his return, comes back with a drop and blinkers. SILENT CEREMONY (#4) flashed speed vs. tougher here last summer and fall. He gets a significant class drop for his first start since. GASPARILLA TROVE (#7) has had 14 chances and his seven seconds show he has ability. He comes here of some recent good work in Florida. SWITCHBLADE (#6) has not only been facing tougher, he has a recency edge over a number of his rivals, having raced this winter and spring in Florida.

Race 5

STAY DETERMINED (#1) has speed, the rail and drops for his first start of the season. He ran strongly off a similar layoff last spring. WICKSTEAD (#4) perked up here this fall. He’s been freshened since a couple solid outings here and has worked well for this. JIMMIES TRUCK (#8) did well here last year while facing more expensive. FLASHY MARGARITTA (#7) boasts significant speed. He comes off a smart last half of 2017, and while that work came elsewhere note the ample success here (4 wins).

Race 6

PIPERS WARRIOR (#1) whipped maidens here in the fall and then nearly won the Display Dec. 2, his first start against winners. Moving to routing appears to agree with him. ARCHAGGELOS (#3) won the Grade 3 here last fall. He comes off a dull try in a Grade 3 at Turfway Park March 17 but he might get back on track at his home base if he runs. He also is entered in the Woodhaven at Aqueduct on Saturday.

Race 7

SAILING HOME (#8) showed ample class and ability here last spring, including being stakes-placed. He hasn’t been seen in almost 10 months, but has run well fresh before and worked as though he’s ready to go. MAJESTIC FEVER (#4) was dull when last seen here Dec. 8, but that came routing. He returns to sprinting, his best game. PERFECT FORESTER (#5) had a splendid 2017 here, including a couple good outings in spots like this to end his season. LILLZ PEARL (#3) boasts considerable speed. This is his first start in almost nine months but some of his best work has come off the bench.
