Halladay to stand at Harris Farms in California

Halladay, the winner of the Grade 1 Fourstardave Handicap at Saratoga in 2020 and two other stakes, has been retired to stud at Harris Farms in Coalinga, Calif., it was announced earlier this week.
Halladay, by War Front, will stand for $7,500.
A winner of 6 of 17 starts, Halladay earned $565,245 in a four-year career for owner Harrell Ventures and trainer Todd Pletcher. Halladay raced primarily on turf. He won the Tropical Park Derby in December 2019 and the Sunshine Forever Stakes in March 2020, both at Gulfstream Park.
After his win in the $400,000 Fourstardave Handicap at a mile, Halladay was sixth in the Breeders’ Cup Mile at Keeneland in November 2020 in his final start in a Grade 1 race.
In his lone start of 2021, Halladay was fourth in an allowance race at Belmont Park last June.
A 6-year-old, Halladay is out of the 16-year-old Tapit mare Hightap, a two-time Grade 3 winner who won 4 of 12 starts and earned $300,345.
