Halabi has two for one-mile feature Friday
Trainer Mike Halabi has two solid shots with Dizzy Mz Tizzy and Optimistic Lulu in a first-level allowance race that kicks off the Friday night card at Northlands Park. Post time for the one-mile race for fillies and mares that drew five horses is 6:30 p.m. Mountain. The 5-year-old mares, who were bred in Kentucky by their owner, Westana Ranches, will run uncoupled.
Dizzy Mz Tizzy could end up the favorite. She rallied to finish second going 1 1/16 miles in a $35,000 optional-claiming race won by Truvi on Aug. 28. Truvi came back to romp over the classy 25-time winner Salsa Express in a $25,000 optional claimer last Monday.
There should be plenty of speed to set her up, and after breaking from the inside post, she should get a ground-saving trip with Quincy Welch retaining the mount.
Optimistic Lulu also finished behind Truvi in her last race in the $75,000 City of Edmonton Distaff, won by Rock and Glory on Aug. 14. Optimistic Lulu came from well off the pace to finish third, three lengths behind Truvi, in the 1 1/16-mile race.

◗ This is a big step up in class after winning a $7,000 maiden-claiming race for trainer Rodney Haynes on Aug. 8. Nonetheless, she was well in hand in her 17 3/4-length romp in the one-mile race and came back with a sharp half-mile work in 47.80 seconds Sept. 3.
