VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Dyna Stroll overcame a wide trip to win the $107,186 Ascot Graduation for 2-year-olds at Hastings Sunday. With Mario Gutierrez, aboard Dyna Stroll lost a lot of ground going around the first two turns in the mile and a sixteenth feature, but he still managed to produce a strong late run to win by a widening 2 1/4 lengths over Silly Fella. Silly Fella stalked the early pace, took the lead on the middle of the stretch turn and held on to edge Victor's Magic by neck. "It was a rough trip," said Gutierrez. "He tried to run over horses so I had to take him to the outside." Trained by Troy Taylor, Dyna Stroll paid $9.60 to win. He was coupled with Clear to Canada. The show prices of $13.50, $14.80 and $23.90 were a result of the heavily favored Juan Olmos-trained entry running out of the money. Huitzilopochtli, who headed the Olmos entry, finished seventh and suffered the first defeat in his six-race career. Final time over a track rated sloppy was 1:47.23.
