Gulfstream Park: No immediate plans to sell Social Inclusion

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - Owner Ron Sanchez said Wednesday he will not make any deal to sell Social Inclusion until at least after his undefeated 3-year-old makes his next start April 5 in the Grade 1 Wood Memorial.
“If we sold him before the Wood, it would have meant a change in trainers and moving him to a new barn, and I don’t think that would be in the horse’s best interests at this point,” said Sanchez, who races under the name Rontos Racing Stable Corp. “Manny [Azpurua] has done a great job with him up to this point, and I want him to stay with Manny at least through the Wood.”
Social Inclusion worked three furlongs in 35.43 seconds and galloped out a half-mile in 47.92 over a fast but cuppy racetrack Wednesday with regular rider Jose Contreras aboard. According to Sanchez, Social Inclusion will again work three-eighths and gallop out a half-mile here Saturday and then van to New York the following morning.

Davis done at Gulfstream
Apprentice Dylan Davis will sit out the remainder of the championship meet, which ends April 6, after suffering a severe bruise on his shin, the result of a riding mishap Sunday. Davis was aboard Vengeful, who broke down during Sunday’s second race.
“Dylan was hoping to come back [Wednesday], but when he got on a horse Monday morning, he was in a lot of pain from the bruise, and his doctor suggested he take a week off to allow the area to heal properly,” said Davis’s agent, Cliff Collier. “He won’t ride anymore at Gulfstream in anticipation of being ready to go when Keeneland opens next week.”
Davis is fifth in the jockeys’ standings during the current session with 40 victories.
