Gulfstream Park: Jockeys bounce back from spills
HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - Four jockeys were involved in two frightening accidents over the weekend, although luckily all four escaped serious injury.
Abdiel Jaen and apprentice Dylan Davis went down in Saturday’s first race when Unbridled Saint bore out approaching the stretch under apprentice Andre Worrie. Leveraged Loan, with Davis up, fell, and Cool Colony went down with Jaen aboard when he tried to jump Leveraged Loan. Jaen walked away from the spill uninjured. Davis was taken to a local hospital for precautionary X-rays, which were negative. Unbridled Saint was disqualified from third and placed last.

Jaen and Davis each returned to win a race here the following afternoon. Jaen captured Sunday’s second race with Don’t Say No, and Davis the seventh on even-money Storm Haboob. Jaen also won a second race later in the day at Calder.
Luis Saez and Alex Solis also walked away relatively unscathed after Sunday’s fourth race. The spill was caused when Saez’s mount, Blush Again, ducked in sharply in the one-mile chute, crashing into Solis’s horse, V V Goodnight.
None of the four horses involved in the two incidents over the weekend appeared seriously injured.
