Gulfstream Park: Itsmyluckyday at ‘110 percent’

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - Itsmyluckyday finished a tiring fourth while making his first start since June in the Gulfstream Park Handicap on March 8 and has bounced back “110 percent,” trainer Eddie Plesa Jr. said.
Itsmyluckyday lost the second half of his 3-year-old campaign last year when he fractured his pelvis during the Grade 3 Pegasus at Monmouth Park.

“He came out of the race great, and in the big picture, that’s the most important thing,” Plesa said of the Gulfstream Park Handicap. “Don’t forget, we started at a fitness level of zero with this horse once he returned to training this winter and were facing a star-studded field that included Palace Malice and Golden Ticket. There’s no doubt he got a lot out of his last race. His energy level has been great since he ran, so now it’s just a matter of looking through our options to find the next spot for him.”
