Gulfstream Park horses to watch: Week of Feb. 1
Almost Famous

Finish: 4th by 6
Beyer: 83
He did the dirty work in the Holy Bull, dueling on the lead through hot splits, and paid the price by tiring to fourth. But he was still just two lengths behind victorious Cairo Prince at the eighth pole, while the rest still remained far out of it. Look for this colt to improve second time out this year, particularly if he can land in a Derby prep that is short of speed to challenge him early.
Mr. Online
Trainer: Mike Pino
Last race: Jan. 24, 10th
Finish: 1st by 2 1/4
Beyer: 96
A horse that raced for a $25,000 tag last summer at Parx Racing, he has brought his game to new heights over the past six months, and it showed with a good-looking starter allowance win Jan. 24. Rating just off the pace, he blew away his opponents and ran a 96 Beyer, a number good enough to win many stakes. He is effective on turf from 5 1/2 furlongs to a mile.
Kulboyz
Trainer: Angel Rodriguez
Last race: Jan. 23, 2nd
Finish: 1st by 2 1/2
Beyer: 87
He was overlooked in his debut due to low-profile Calder connections and a modest pedigree, but this colt showed he could run quickly in leading throughout in a maiden race for Florida-breds. Despite the dominant victory, he could again slip past the public a bit second time out, particularly if he lands in an allowance with horses with flashy pedigrees and well-known barns.
