Gulfstream Park: Honor Code headed to WinStar

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - Honor Code, off the Triple Crown trail with a slight hind suspensory tear, was scheduled to leave Gulfstream by van Friday and head to WinStar Farm in Kentucky, where he will join his 3-year-old stablemate Top Billing to convalesce.
Trainer Shug McGaughey said Honor Code will walk for a while until he gets the okay to be turned out.

“Then we’ll re-evaluate in 60 days and see where we’re at,” he said. “There’s no hole there, but we’ll let [Dr. Larry] Bramlage ultrasound him himself.”
Top Billing, also off the Triple Crown trail due to a fracture, is about three weeks into stall rest at WinStar.
“We will be able to start walking him in 30 days,” McGaughey said. “In 2 1/2 months, we’ll take the plate out, we’ll turn him out for six weeks, and let the holes fill in. Hopefully, we can start back around the first of July.”
