Gulfstream Park has named Caton Bredar as the executive producer of the track's newly formed media development department during the 2010 meet, which opens on Jan. 3. Bredar, 44, will return to Gulfstream, where she first served as simulcasting and television host during the early 1990's. Bredar also helped launch the Thoroughbred racing simulcasting network TVG before moving to Kentucky, where she worked as a news reporter and television anchor at local station WAVE. It was at there that Bredar co-produced the Eclipse award winning documentary titled "The 1978 Triple Crown: A Legend Re-Affirmed." Over the past decade, Bredar has reported for HRTV, Fox, ABC, and NBC and is regularly seen on horseback during ESPN's coverage of the Breeders' Cup. In her new position, Bredar will oversee a team responsible for all broadcast operations as well as print, simulcast, Internet, radio, and television coverage during the upcoming meet. The department will also focus on broadening the track's coverage on HRTV as well as HRTV.com.
