Excited has finished second in each of her last three starts, two of those close calls coming in stakes. The two promising 3-year-old fillies will bring those streaks into Sunday’s $100,000 Herecomesthebride at Gulfstream Park, a Grade 3 race carded at 1 1/8 miles on the turf. Dynamic Holiday has already accounted for Calder’s Tropical Park Oaks and the Florida Oaks at Tampa Bay Downs to begin her 3-year-old campaign and trainer Graham Motion said no matter the outcome, she will get a break after the Herecomesthebride. “This will be her third race already this year but the timing was good, she’s looking to go a mile and one eighth, and it gave her the opportunity to run in a graded stakes for the first time,” said Motion. “But I’ll back off her and point her towards the summer races win, lose, or draw on Sunday.” Dynamic Holiday gutted out nose victories both in a maiden race last fall at Keeneland and in the Tropical Oaks but had plenty of breathing room at the end of the Florida Oaks when she rallied to a 1 3/4-length decision over Holidaysatthefarm under a perfect ride by jockey Ramon Dominguez. “She’s improved physically and mentally with each start and she was much more professional in her last start,” said Motion. “She just went about her business and did it nicely.” Dominguez will be back aboard Dynamic Holiday in the Herecomesthebride. “I was lucky that Ramon was already down in Tampa to ride on Saturday,” said Motion. “He was keen to stay on her and I was keen to keep him on her.” Dynamic Holiday must carry high weight of 120 pounds under the allowance conditions of the race, conceding four pounds to each of her eight rivals. “You’re always concerned about weight when dealing with 3-year-old fillies,” said Motion. “Of course I can always find plenty to worry about anyway.” Excited will try to shed the bridesmaid role for trainer Todd Pletcher in the Herecomesthebride. She was defeated by three-parts of a length in each of her last two starts to close out her 2-year-old campaign, including an overnight stakes at Belmont Park. She turned in the best race of her career to open her 3-year-old season here in the Sweetest Chant when beaten 1 1/4 lengths by two-time graded stakes winner Kathmanblu. Holidaysatthefarm has been stakes placed in each of her last three starts, including the Florida Oaks, in which she closed fast after being caught in traffic on the second turn. Holidaysatthefarm, a Glen Hill Farm homebred trained by Tom Proctor, will receive a six-pound weight shift in her favor from Dynamic Holiday off their previous meeting. Triune, third in the Tropical Oaks, and Forest Legend, fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, top the remainder of a field that also includes the speedy War Prospector, the undefeated Mystical Star, the red-hot Parting Words, and improving Sassy’s Dream.
